From Teacher to Learning Designer and Facilitator
My background in education gave me the necessary foundation for developing the skills all instructors need: deep knowledge of our target audiences and how they learn, writing courses aligned with meeting learning goals, and creating engaging content that helps learning stick. After helping to create and lead professional development for other educators, I quickly found my passion in learning how to design effective training. I enjoy learning new skills and helping others. I look forward to applying my skills as a learning designer and facilitator in a role where I can help others succeed.
How I do this:
I use my knowledge of instructional design principles and adult learning theories to create meaningful learning experiences.
I simplify training for colleagues by creating job aids and tutorials.
I build relationships with stakeholders through empathy and active listening so that the final learning process includes multiple perspectives.
I engage in ongoing training and feedback for my own professional development.
I utilize project management tools to streamline and communicate the workflow of 8+ projects to my team
